A BILL FOR An Act requiring the board of educational examiners to establish authorizations for instruction related to fine arts. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 5953YH (2) jda/jh H.F. 2235 Section 1. Section 256.146, Code 2026, is amended by adding the following new subsection: NEW SUBSECTION. 28. Adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A establishing authorizations for instruction related to fine arts in schools providing instruction to students enrolled in prekindergarten through grade twelve, including art, music, and choir. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill requires the board of educational examiners to establish authorizations for instruction related to fine arts in schools providing instruction to students enrolled in prekindergarten through grade 12, including art, music, and choir.
