A BILL FOR An Act relating to renewal requirements associated with licenses issued by the board of educational examiners to certain specified practitioners. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 5901YH (3) jda/jh H.F. 2272 Section 1. Section 256.146, subsection 1, paragraph a, subparagraph (2), Code 2026, is amended to read as follows: (2) Establish issuance and renewal requirements, provided that a continuing education requirement may be completed by electronic means, and there shall be no renewal requirement for a practitioner any of the following practitioners: (a) A practitioner who has been employed as a practitioner for at least ten years and who possesses a master's or doctoral degree, unless the practitioner holds an evaluator approval endorsement, which must be renewed at least once every ten years. (b) A practitioner who has been employed as a practitioner for at least twenty years, unless the practitioner holds an evaluator approval endorsement, which must be renewed at least once every ten years. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill relates to renewal requirements associated with licenses issued by the board of educational examiners (BOEE) to certain specified practitioners. Current law authorizes the BOEE to establish renewal requirements for licensed practitioners. …
