A BILL FOR An Act relating to school district general fund flexibility accounts by expanding eligible uses to include costs to expand preschool programs. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 6002YH (2) mb/jh H.F. 2453 Section 1. Section 298A.2, subsection 2, paragraph c, subparagraph (1), Code 2026, is amended to read as follows: (1) Start-up costs and costs to expand for an approved local program under the statewide preschool program for four-year-old children under chapter 256C. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill relates to school district fund flexibility accounts. The bill allows school districts to use the funds in general fund flexibility accounts for the purpose of expanding eligible preschool programs. LSB 6002YH (2) -1- mb/jh 1/1
