A BILL FOR An Act relating to licensing requirements of private investigative agencies and security agents. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 6774XS (1) as/js S.F. 2323 Section 1. Section 80A.4, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code 2026, is amended to read as follows: c. Has never not been convicted of a felony or aggravated misdemeanor within the ten years preceding the application. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill relates to licensing requirements of private investigative agencies and security agents. The bill provides that a license or renewal will not be issued unless the applicant has not been convicted of a felony or aggravated misdemeanor within the ten years preceding the application. Current law provides that a license or renewal will not be issued if the applicant has ever been convicted of a felony or an aggravated misdemeanor. LSB 6774XS (1) -1- as/js 1/1
