A Resolution recognizing and congratulating the Kirkwood Community College women's basketball team on its historic performance in the 2025 basketball season. WHEREAS, the Kirkwood Community College Eagles entered the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II national basketball tournament as the number one seed, which it held throughout the season; and WHEREAS, Kirkwood this season won their fifth consecutive Region 11 tournament title, regular season championship, and district title; and WHEREAS, Kirkwood set an NJCAA Division II record with an incredible 54-game win streak over the past two seasons while extending their home winning streak to 74 games; and WHEREAS, Kirkwood, after winning the national championship in 2024, finished the 2025 season with a remarkable 33-2 record for a fourth place finish; and WHEREAS, sophomore Jenna Twedt was named to the 2025 NJCAA Division II National Tournament All-Tournament Team for her stellar performance throughout the tournament, and for a second consecutive season; and WHEREAS, Kim Muhl continued his remarkable 35-season run as head coach of the Eagles, leading all NJCAA women's basketball coaches in career victories; NOW THEREFORE, LSB 2985HH (4) -1- je/jh 1/2 H.R.
