A Resolution recognizing the work of We the Veterans and Military Families and commemorating the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the United States Army, United States Navy, and United States Marine Corps. WHEREAS, 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Army, United States Navy, and United States Marine Corps, institutions that have defended our nation's freedom and upheld our country's values for two and a half centuries; and WHEREAS, the state of Iowa has a proud and storied history of military service, with generations of veterans, active duty personnel, and military families making invaluable contributions to our national defense and the security of our communities; and WHEREAS, We the Veterans and Military Families is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization created by veterans and military family members to empower the veteran and military family community to strengthen America; and WHEREAS, We the Veterans and Military Families, through its Military250 campaign, seeks to honor veterans and military family service organizations, recognize 250 leaders who continue to serve, and encourage 250 impactful acts of service, strengthening civic engagement and fostering national unity; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate the selfless service and sacrifices of veterans and military families, who have demonstrated LSB 2981XS (2) -1- sc/js 1/2 S.R. unwavering dedication, patriotism, and courage in …
