A BILL FOR An Act relating to forms of payment for entry into an extracurricular interscholastic athletic contest or competition. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 2424XS (2) jda/jh S.F. Section 1. NEW SECTION. 280.13D Extracurricular interscholastic athletic contests or competitions ---- payment of legal tender permitted. 1. For purposes of this section, "organization" means the same as defined in section 280.13. 2. A public school shall accept legal tender as a form of payment for entry into any extracurricular interscholastic athletic contest or competition sponsored by an organization. As a condition of registration with the department of education under section 280.13, an organization shall accept legal tender as a form of payment for entry into any extracurricular interscholastic athletic contest or competition sponsored by the organization. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill requires a public school to accept legal tender as a form of payment for entry into any extracurricular interscholastic athletic contest or competition sponsored by an extracurricular interscholastic athletic organization. The bill requires an extracurricular interscholastic athletic organization, as a condition of registration with the department of education, to accept legal tender as a form of payment for entry into an extracurricular interscholastic …
