SENATE RESOLUTION No. 1732 A R ESOLUTION commending Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and acknowledging the patriotic commitment of all Kansas employers who support their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. WHEREAS, Kansas National Guard and Reserve service members of all military branches are citizen warriors who courageously balance their civilian lives, careers and families with the unique demands of military service, which often involve deploying on short notice; and WHEREAS, These dedicated men and women provide critical domestic support during emergencies and stand ready to protect our nation abroad, which is essential for the defense of the State of Kansas and the United States; and WHEREAS, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense office that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and assists in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment; and WHEREAS, The success of the National Guard and Reserve heavily relies on the support of patriotic Kansas employers who provide generous leave, flexible policies and peace of mind to their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve by ensuring that their civilian jobs and benefits will be protected in accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act; and WHEREAS, The citizens of Kansas recognize …
