A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Jack Conley Morgan. WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan was born on July 20, 1951, in Hoskinston, Kentucky, the son of the late Sam and Ethel Morgan; and WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan lived a life characterized by a strong work ethic and commitment to his family and friends. Jack had a penchant for industry and hard work, serving as owner and operator of Mountain Logging and J & C Service Station, and as a former coal mine owner and operator; and WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan had a restless desire to better himself and his world, which extended to his own education. After graduating from Leslie County High School, Jack attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Benefiting from the rewards of education, Jack would spend the rest of his life advocating the importance of education; and WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan had endless compassion and desire to help others which was exemplified by his founding and daily operation of the "Hope in the Hills" organization that provided free food to thousands of his fellow Leslie County residents, especially children. Jack never stopped giving back to the community that made him; and WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting and four-wheeling.
