A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring Bob Quick upon his forthcoming retirement as president and CEO of Commerce Lexington. WHEREAS, Bob Quick was appointed as president and CEO of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce in 2001 and guided the organization through a merger of three organizations that would become Commerce Lexington; and WHEREAS, Bob Quick has more than 39 years of experience in the chamber profession. Bob Quick previously served as the president and CEO of the Metropolitan Evansville, Indiana, Chamber of Commerce and as the Executive Vice President of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, under Bob Quick's steady leadership and commitment to collaboration, Commerce Lexington has become one of the top chambers in the country, receiving a multitude of awards, including the 2016 Chamber of the Year Award and Top 3 Chambers in 2014 and 2015 from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Economic Development Organization of the Year by Business Facilities in 2024 and 2025, the 2022 Unity Award, and Top 20 Mac Conway Economic Development Agency by Site Selection Magazine in 2018, 2020, and 2021; and WHEREAS, Bob Quick has made a significant achievement in building regional collaboration efforts for the betterment of Lexington, with a renewed focus on giving businesses a more effective voice and collaborating with government officials, faith leaders, …
