A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Lilburn Winson Roy. WHEREAS, Lilburn Winson Roy was born on June 6, 1939, in Adair County, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, Lilburn Roy dedicated 12 years of his life to serving his community through his work with the Adair County Road Department; and WHEREAS, Lilburn Roy was a longtime member of the Old Paths Church, and led a life of community service, including serving as a founding board member of the Westlake Hospital in Columbia, and as chair of the Adair County Republican Party; and WHEREAS, Lilburn Roy had many unique interests, including vegetable gardening, preserving local history, and collecting antique soda bottles. One project of which he was particularly proud was his meticulously compiled 28-page booklet about the Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant formerly located in Columbia; and WHEREAS, Lilburn Roy traversed these earthly bounds on April 4, 2026, peacefully at his home, and is survived by his loving wife, Geneva May Yarberry Roy, and his son, Steve (Sharman) Roy; and WHEREAS, Lilburn Roy will be remembered for his soft-spoken nature and gentle demeanor. His friends and family will miss his smile, which was a constant comfort and a reflection of his loving spirit; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: …
