A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Don McKenzie Memorial Bridge in Morgan County. WHEREAS, Donald Henry "Don" McKenzie was born in Licking River, Kentucky, the son of Victor Clay and Florence Wells McKenzie; and WHEREAS, Don McKenzie married the love, of his life Wanetta Perry McKenzie, on November 21, 1958, and they were blessed with three children, Terrie, Donna, and Shawn; and WHEREAS, in 1958, Don McKenzie founded McKenzie's Pool and Lunchroom in Morgan County, Kentucky, and operated the lunchroom for the rest of his life; and WHEREAS, Don McKenzie also volunteered with the local Little League and football programs in Morgan County; and WHEREAS, Don Mckenzie's commitment to the community of Morgan County was recognized when he and his twin brother, Ronald, were chosen as Morgan County's Outstanding Citizens of the Year in 1992; and WHEREAS, Don McKenzie left this earth to meet his Heavenly Father on April 14, 2025, where he joined his loving wife, his parents and his siblings; and WHEREAS, Don McKenzie is survived by his children, two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many other family members and friends who miss him dearly; and WHEREAS, for his service and kindness to the community, Don McKenzie is worthy of honor and tangible public recognition in Morgan County; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth …
