A RESOLUTION recognizing April 18, 2026, as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. WHEREAS, the men and women who serve as utility lineworkers build and maintain electric power, telephone, cable television, and fiber optic lines; and WHEREAS, lineworkers are often first responders during storms and other catastrophic events, working to make the scene safe for other public safety heroes; and WHEREAS, to keep electricity flowing, lineworkers work with thousands of volts of electricity high atop powerlines 24 hours a day, days a year; and WHEREAS, lineworkers must often work under dangerous conditions far from their families to construct and maintain the energy infrastructure of the Commonwealth; and WHEREAS, lineworkers put their lives on the line every day with little recognition from the community regarding the danger of their work; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives hereby express, on behalf of their constituents, their sincere appreciation for the important work of the lineworkers of Duke Energy, Kentucky Power Company, and Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities Company, on the occasion of National Lineworker Appreciation Day, April 18, 2026. Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor, recognition, and celebration of Kentucky's utility lineworkers. …
