A RESOLUTION To express support for maintaining and continuing the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program at Camp Minden and to recognize the program's importance to the youth and communities of North Louisiana and the state as a whole. WHEREAS, the Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program has provided life-changing educational and leadership opportunities to at-risk youth throughout Louisiana for many years; and WHEREAS, the program located at Camp Minden serves young people from across the state by helping participants develop discipline, responsibility, academic achievement, leadership skills, and workforce readiness; and WHEREAS, graduates of the program have gone on to obtain high school equivalency diplomas, pursue higher education, enter military service, and become productive members of their communities; and WHEREAS, the Camp Minden location has developed experienced staff, infrastructure, community partnerships, and regional support systems that contribute significantly to the success of the program; and WHEREAS, maintaining a Youth Challenge presence in North Louisiana helps ensure geographic accessibility and opportunity for youth and families throughout the northern region of the state; and Page 1 of HLS 26RS-5924 ORIGINAL HR NO.
