BY adding to Article - Public Utilities Section 7-207.6 Annotated Code of Maryland (2025 Replacement Volume and 2025 Supplement).

A BILL ENTITLED AN ACT concerning Maryland Co-Location Energy Innovation and Reliability Act FOR the purpose of requiring the Public Service Commission to adopt regulations related to the construction of a generating station that is co-located with a data center but is not interconnected with the electric transmission system or electric distribution system; and generally relating to the co-location of data centers with generating stations. BY adding to Article - Public Utilities Section 7-207.6 Annotated Code of Maryland (2025 Replacement Volume and 2025 Supplement) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Public Utilities 7-207.6. (A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED. (2) "CONSTRUCTION" HAS THE MEANING STATED IN § 7-207 OF THIS SUBTITLE. (3) "DATA CENTER" HAS THE MEANING STATED IN § 11-239 OF THE TAX - GENERAL ARTICLE. EXPLANATION: CAPITALS INDICATE MATTER ADDED TO EXISTING LAW.
