A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND CELEBRATING MISSISSIPPI JUNETEENTH HOMECOMING WEEKEND 2026. WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi recognizes the significance of Juneteenth Homecoming Weekend in celebrating freedom, empowerment and unity; and WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi acknowledges the valuable contributions and heritage of its citizens with Mississippi roots throughout the United States; and WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi acknowledges the economic benefits derived from the return of its citizens with Mississippi roots, which contribute to the economic impact and growth of the state; and WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi recognizes the potential for new business opportunities and investment considerations that arise from the return of its citizens with Mississippi roots; and WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi acknowledges the potential for return migration to Mississippi, leading to potential growth and the opportunity to regain a 5th Congressional District; and *HR43/R717* H.
