A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE SOUTH JONES HIGH SCHOOL "BAND OF BRAVES" MARCHING BAND FOR WINNING THE 2025 BANDS OF AMERICA CLASS A GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. WHEREAS, the South Jones High School "Band of Braves" Marching Band has built a reputation as one of the most successful performing arts groups in the State of Mississippi, a truly outstanding achievement; and WHEREAS, South Jones High School in Ellisville, Mississippi, has proudly served the Jones County School District ever since it opened its doors in 1965, and under the current leadership of Superintendent Dr. B.R. Jones, and the band leadership of Brian Joyce, the Band of Braves has grown into one of the region's most respected and accomplished music programs; and WHEREAS, from its earliest days, the band has maintained a tradition of excellence, consistently earning superior ratings at festivals and competitions in both marching and concert performance, and that commitment to musical artistry, discipline, and teamwork has taken the Band of Braves across the United *HR26/R2424.1* H.
