A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. CHRISTOPHER PRICE NEWMAN FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT UPON THE AUSPICIOUS OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT. WHEREAS, after decades of exemplary public service, Mr. Christopher Price Newman is retiring from law enforcement, marking the end of a career but cementing a legacy of honor, courage, professionalism and steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens; and WHEREAS, Mr. Newman, a native of Clinton, Mississippi, received his bachelor's degree from The University of Southern Mississippi before graduating from the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center in 1993, where he earned awards for the highest academic average and the highest overall average; and WHEREAS, launching a career that would span multiple agencies and various leadership roles across the State of Mississippi and beyond, Mr. Newman began his service in law enforcement with the City of Starkville in 1992, and during his time as a police officer for the city, he quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant; and *HR26/R2707* H.
