A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING SIMPSON COUNTY ACADEMY'S LILLY OVERBY AS THREE-TIME CROSS-COUNTRY STATE CHAMPION AND 2024-2025 GATORADE MISSISSIPPI GIRLS CROSS-COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE YEAR. WHEREAS, we join the students of Simpson Academy and the citizens of Simpson County in celebrating the cross-country accomplishments of Lilly Overby, a Senior Cross-Country runner for the Simpson County Academy Cougars; and WHEREAS, Lilly Overby has won the MAIS 4A Division I State Cross-Country Title for the past three years; and WHEREAS, running isn't just a sport for Lilly Overby, it's a passion, a purpose, and a way of life. The Simpson Academy senior has poured her heart into the sport, earning recognition that places her among the best in the nation; and WHEREAS, Gatorade recently announced that Lilly Overby is the 2024-2025 Gatorade Mississippi Girls Cross-Country Player of the Year, a first for Simpson County Academy.
