A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JAVARIUS SMITH OF MADISON S. PALMER HIGH SCHOOL IN MARKS, MISSISSIPPI, FOR WINNING BACK-TO-BACK 2A STATE MHSAA WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS. WHEREAS, Javarius Smith from Madison S. Palmer High School in Marks, Mississippi, has won back-to-back 2A State Championships at the MHSAA Weightlifting Championship with a Monster 3-lift, 1,400 pound total; and WHEREAS, Javarius Smith competed in the 220-pound weight class at the MHSAA State Powerlifting Meet in Jackson, Mississippi. He dominated the event, putting 30 pounds between himself and second place; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this student-athlete who has brought honor to his school, his community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Javarius Smith of Madison S. Palmer High School in Marks, Mississippi, for winning back-to-back 2A State MHSAA weightlifting championships *SS36/R1676* S. R.
