FIRST REGULAR SESSION HOUSE BILL NO. 1530 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVE AUNE. 2936H.01I JOSEPHENGLER,ChiefClerk To repeal section 210.860, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to a local property tax for children's services. Section A. Section 210.860, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 210.860, to read as follows: 210.860. 1. (1) After a question submitted to the voters under this subsection hasbeenapprovedbythevotersasprovidedinthissubsection,thegoverningbodyofany county or city not within a county [may, after voter approval pursuant to this section,] shall levy a tax not to exceed twenty-five cents on each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation ontaxablepropertyinthecountyforthepurposeofprovidingcounseling,familysupport,and temporary residential services to persons eighteen years of age or less and those services described in section 210.861. (2) The question shall be submitted to the qualified voters of the county or city not within a county at a county or state general, primary, or special or (b) Uponthepetitionofeightpercentofthequalifiedvotersofthecountydetermined on the basis of the number of votes cast for governor in such county or city not within a county at the last gubernatorial election held prior to the filing of the petition.
