FIRST REGULAR SESSION HOUSE BILL NO. 1605 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVE CUPPS. 3175H.01I JOSEPHENGLER,ChiefClerk To repeal section 262.220, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the Missouri state fair. Section A. Section 262.220, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 262.220, to read as follows: 262.220. 1. For the purpose of encouraging the development of the agricultural, horticultural,mechanical,mineral,livestockproductionandallotherindustrialinterestsofthe state of Missouri, there is hereby established a state fair, to be known and referredto as the "Bishop Davidson Fair", to be held annually at Sedalia, Missouri, and on the state fairgrounds heretofore conveyed by deeds of conveyance to the state of Missouri and hereaftertobeacquiredbythestateofMissouriashereinprovided;andthefairshallbeunder the control and management of the state fair commission. The commission may lease or purchase such lands, suitable for the use of the state fair, as may be deemed by the commission necessary and proper for such purposes and subject to legislative approval. 2. ThepurchaseoflandsbythecommissionshallbeonbehalfofthestateofMissouri at such terms as the commission may deem fair and reasonable, and a deed or deeds shall be taken therefor to the state of Missouri. ✔ EXPLANATION -- Matter enclosed in bold-faced brackets [thus] in the above bill is not enacted and is intended to be omitted from the law.
