AN ACT relating to rail transit; directing the Legislative Commission to appoint a Regional Rail Transit Advisory Working Group to conduct an interim study relating to regional rail transit in regional communities; and providing other matters properly relating thereto. Legislative Counsel's Digest: This bill directs the Legislative Commission to appoint a Regional Rail Transit Advisory Working Group to conduct an interim study concerning the development of regional rail transit in regional communities across the State. This bill requires the Advisory Working Group to: (1) study the current state of regional rail transit and public transit, the need for regional rail transit, the sources of money to support the development of regional rail transit and public and private entities that should be involved in the development of regional rail transit; and (2) submit an actionable plan for the development of regional rail transit in regional communities across the State and a written report of its findings and recommendations to the Joint Interim Standing Committee on Growth and Infrastructure.
