TUCKER District 28 (Essex and Union) Co-Sponsored by: Assemblyman Karabinchak, Assemblywomen Kane, Morales, Reynolds-Jackson and McCoy SYNOPSIS Authorizes creation and issuance of veteran license plates. CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT As introduced. authorizing the creation and issuance of veteran license plates and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes. the State of New Jersey: 1. a. As used in this section, veteran means a person who is classified as a veteran pursuant to N.J.S.38A:21-3, as evidenced by the applicants DD-214 form or on a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, and has been honorably discharged. b. Upon proper application, the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission shall issue a veteran license plate for any motor vehicle owned or leased and registered by a veteran in this State. In addition to the registration number and other markings or identification otherwise prescribed by law, the license plates shall, at a minimum, bear the word Veteran. The chief administrator, in consultation with the Commissioner of the Department of Veterans Affairs, shall select the design and color scheme of the veteran license …
