An Act establishing the Minor Protection Order Act of 2026, supplementing Title 2A of the New Jersey Statutes, amending various parts of the statutory law, and making an appropriation. Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey: 1. (New section) This act shall be known and may be cited as the Minor Protection Order Act of 2026. 2. (New section) a. A parent or guardian of a minor who is at least 14 years of age and alleges to be the victim of conduct set forth in paragraph (1) or (2) of this subsection may file an application with the Superior Court pursuant to the Rules of Court alleging the commission of this conduct and seeking a minor protection order against a minor respondent who is at least 14 years of age. (1) In cases where there is a dating or domestic relationship, including a current or former dating relationship, the minor respondent committed or attempted to commit a delinquent act which if committed by an adult would constitute homicide pursuant to N.J.S.2C:11-1 et seq., assault pursuant to N.J.S.2C:12-1, terroristic threats pursuant to N.J.S.2C:12-3, kidnapping pursuant to N.J.S.2C:13-1, criminal restraint pursuant to N.J.S.2C:13-2, false imprisonment pursuant to N.J.S.2C:13-3, sexual assault pursuant to N.J.S.2C:14-2, criminal sexual contact pursuant to N.J.S.2C:14-3, lewdness pursuant to N.J.S.2C:14-4, …
