Assembly Resolution No. 1424 BY: M. of A. Barclay HONORING Ed Gosek upon the occasion of his retirement after 36 years of distinguished service to SUNY Oswego WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ed Gosek upon the occasion of his retirement after 36 years of distinguished service to SUNY Oswego; and WHEREAS, A former Laker himself, Ed Gosek played for SUNY Oswego from 1979-1983, earning both his Bachelor of Science in 1983, and Master of Science in Education in 2001, from the university; and WHEREAS, Ed Gosek began his coaching career in the Oswego Minor Hockey Association, where he led youth teams to four New York State titles and his tireless dedication to grassroots development earned him the NYSAHA Peter Rush Award in 2008, for contributions to youth hockey and the prestigious USA Hockey Walter Yaciuk Award in 2009, for outstanding service to the Coaching Education Program; and WHEREAS, Ed Gosek's coaching career with the SUNY Oswego Lakers began in 1990, when he was hired as the Men's Ice Hockey Assistant Coach, a role …
