Senate Resolution No. 2289 BY: Senator STEC COMMENDING the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary on June 11, 2026 WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor those exceptional organizations within the State of New York that have dedicated themselves to fostering economic growth, community revitalization, and entrepreneurial success; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) upon the auspicious occasion of its 50th Anniversary, to be celebrated on June 11, 2026; and WHEREAS, Founded in 1976, the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation has served as a vital cornerstone for economic development across the North Country and Northern New York, empowering small local businesses, creating thriving economies, and preserving the unique character of the communities within the Adirondack region; and WHEREAS, For five decades, AEDC has provided critical financial lending, comprehensive business training, and strategic technical assistance, bridging capital gaps for small businesses and disadvantaged entrepreneurs who otherwise lack access to traditional financing; and WHEREAS, AEDC has helped leverage millions of dollars in public and private investment for small business development, downtown revitalization, adaptive reuse projects, and entrepreneurial growth throughout northern New York including transformative projects connected to the revitalization …
