A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and extending condolences to the family of the Honorable Jerry Allen Stern. WHEREAS, The Honorable Jerry Allen Stern, a former member of the House of Representatives, passed away on December 11, 2024, at 69 years of age; and WHEREAS, Born in Roaring Spring on January 11, 1955, Mr. Stern was the son of the late Merle C. and Vera M. Replogle Stern; and WHEREAS, A 1972 graduate of Central High School, Mr. Stern attended the Altoona School of Commerce, Penn State Altoona and the Altoona Bible Institute; and WHEREAS, Formerly employed with the Feather Petroleum Company and Wineland's IGA Foodliner in Martinsburg, Mr. Stern became Deputy Prothonotary for Blair County in 1982 and Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts in 1989; and WHEREAS, Elected to the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania in 1992, Mr. Stern served the 80th Legislative District until 2015 and during his tenure, he served as Minority Caucus Secretary, chair of the Tourism and Recreational Development Committee and a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Task Force on Commonwealth-Owned Lands and the Legislative Data Processing Center Commission; and WHEREAS, Instrumental in obtaining funding to expand the Greenfield Township sewage treatment plant and to benefit the Spring Cove School District and five local libraries, Mr. Stern supported the Blair County …
