PRINTER'S NO. 1958 THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF PENNSYLVANIA SENATE BILL No. Session of INTRODUCED BY PITTMAN, SEPTEMBER 25, 2026 REFERRED TO TRANSPORTATION, SEPTEMBER 25, 2026 Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 70470, carrying State Route 2012, also known as River Road, over Blacklick Creek between Buffington and East Wheatfield Townships in Indiana County, as the Sgt. SOF Frank J. McCloskey Memorial Bridge. The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows: Section 1. Sgt. SOF Frank J. McCloskey Memorial Bridge. (a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as follows: (1) Francis J. McCloskey, Jr., was born August 1, 1948. (2) A graduate of United High School, he enlisted in the United States Army on June 3, 1966. Mr. McCloskey trained at Fort Bragg and Fort Benning. (3) Upon completion of his training, Mr. McCloskey deployed with the 502nd Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam for his first tour. (4) Mr. McCloskey was wounded in action during his first tour and was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Star with Valor. (5) Mr. McCloskey volunteered for Special Forces duty after his first tour, earned his Green Beret and served with the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group, commanding his own recon team in 1968.
