A RESOLUTION Designating November 10, 2026, as "Chesapeake Bay Foundation Day" in Pennsylvania. WHEREAS, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a private, nonprofit, multistate organization opened its Pennsylvania office in 1986 in recognition of the significance of the Susquehanna River as the Chesapeake Bay's largest tributary and to further the organization's ambitious mission statement to "Save the Bay and its waterways by educating, uniting and inspiring people to take action"; and WHEREAS, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has, from its beginning, offered private citizens opportunities to support and participate directly in the protection and restoration of its namesake estuary; and WHEREAS, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, which has its headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland, has also grown its presence to include offices in Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia and Washington, DC; and WHEREAS, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Pennsylvania membership is 25,000, and the organization, collectively, has surpassed 202,000; and WHEREAS, As it marks its 40th anniversary in Pennsylvania, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation continues to advance environmental education with the support of public and private funding, engaging more than 1,500 participant days each year through hands-on watershed experiences, educator training, curriculum support, restoration programs and opportunities to explore Pennsylvania's water challenges firsthand, inspiring generations to protect and preserve the Chesapeake Bay for years to come; and WHEREAS, Through dedicated advocacy, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's members and …
