A RESOLUTION Mourning the loss of the Honorable Nicholas J. Maiale, former Member from the 183rd District of the House of Representatives, Philadelphia County. WHEREAS, The House of Representatives honors the memory and recognizes the legacy of Nicholas J. Maiale, who died July 5, 2025, at 73 years of age; and WHEREAS, A native of South Philadelphia, Mr. Maiale generously led, advised and inspired others throughout his life; and WHEREAS, In Harrisburg, Mr. Maiale enjoyed friendships on both sides of the aisle; and WHEREAS, Mr. Maiale held his legislative seat from 1980 through 1992, serving on the Judiciary, Finance, Insurance, Business and Commerce and Appropriations Committees; and WHEREAS, Mr. Maiale continued his public service as chair of the Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System through several administrations; and WHEREAS, Mr. Maiale built and managed a legal practice in Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, Mr. Maiale was educated at the Abington and University Park campuses of The Pennsylvania State University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1973; and WHEREAS, In 1976, Mr. Maiale received his law degree from Temple University; and WHEREAS, Mr. Maiale sponsored and joined Penn State Abington veteran students on an international trip in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of World War I; and WHEREAS, The Nick Maiale Student Government and Leadership Room in the Lares Building at Penn State Abington was …
