FARRELL Introduced By: Representatives Marszalkowski, Ackerman, Voas, Shekarchi, Blazejewski, Chippendale, Kennedy, Ajello, Fellela, and Shallcross Date Introduced: SMmairtchh 05, 2026 Referred To: House read and passed WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Martha M. Farrell of Cumberland on February 21, 2026, at the age of seventy-one; and WHEREAS, Martha was the devoted wife of Thomas C. Farrell for nearly fifty years, and together they shared a lasting and loving marriage that began during the historic Blizzard of 1978 at a Newport Creamery in Cumberland; and WHEREAS, Born in Central Falls to the late James and Claire Pratt, Martha carried forward the values of family, faith, and service throughout her life; and WHEREAS, Martha dedicated her professional life to nursing, providing compassionate and skilled care to patients and families throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. During her career, she served at Emerson Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Women & Infants Hospital, Sturdy Memorial Hospital, and Fuller Hospital, exemplifying professionalism, dedication, and kindness; and WHEREAS, In addition to her professional career, Martha was deeply committed to her community.
