2026 Senate Commemoration 819 - SD Legislature honoring the 2025-2026 Canton C-Hawk girls wrestling team. South Dakota Legislature Senate Commemoration 819 Introduced by: Senators Jensen (Kevin), Crabtree, Duhamel, Perry, and Zikmund and Representatives Aylward, Emery, Lems, Moore, Muckey, and Shubeck A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION honoring the 2025-2026 Canton C-Hawk girls wrestling team. WHEREAS, the Canton C-Hawk girls won the Region 2 regional tournament for the second consecutive year in February 2026; and WHEREAS, the Canton C-Hawk girls had thirteen disciplined and dedicated wrestlers qualify for the state tournament; and WHEREAS, the 2026 C-Hawk state qualifiers were Jewel Gannon (100 pounds), Charlee Ann Winter (105 pounds), Avery Kranz (110 pounds), Nayeli Ortega (115 pounds), Brooke Warejcka (120 pounds), Finley Evjen (125 pounds), Marin Rhode (130 pounds), Kenzie King (140 pounds), Lakynn Qualseth (145 pounds), Alyssa McCracken (155 pounds), Sophia Larsen (170 pounds), Natalia Long (190 pounds), and Kori Wallner (235 pounds); and WHEREAS, each C-Hawk girl wrestling in the placement rounds won her match, and Brooke Warejcka (120 pounds) and Finley Evjen (125 pounds) won state championships for the C-Hawks; and WHEREAS, the C-Hawk girls team lived up to the high expectations set by coaches Camron Groenke, Jeremy Ask, Brandon Jarman, and Jason Bartels; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that …
