2026 Senate Commemoration 814 - SD Legislature celebrating the South Dakota Youth of the Year program for 2026. South Dakota Legislature Senate Commemoration 814 Introduced by: Senators Foster, Duhamel, Perry, Rohl, and Voita and Representatives Emery, Moore, Muckey, Pourier, and Wittman A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION celebrating the South Dakota Youth of the Year program for 2026. WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs in South Dakota serve more than eighteen thousand children and teens annually at sixty locations across this state; and WHEREAS, the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs is to enable all young people, especially those with the greatest need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens; and WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Club programs promote a better self-image, improved education, and greater social, emotional, and cultural awareness, while encouraging community involvement, strong moral values, and enhanced life management skills; and WHEREAS, the Youth of the Year program is the Boys & Girls Clubs' premier recognition platform, designed to promote and recognize service to club and community, academic performance, and contributions to family; and WHEREAS, youth nominees from South Dakota Clubs in Sioux Falls, Wagner, Mission, Flandreau, and Pierre have earned the esteemed title of Youth of the Year; and WHEREAS, on March 4, 2026, one of the youth nominees will be chosen as South Dakota State Youth …
