A RESOLUTION to continue honoring the memory of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. WHEREAS, one month has passed since the members of this General Assembly mourned the loss of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., and we continue to reflect upon his extraordinary life and enduring legacy; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson's lifelong commitment to civil rights, voting rights, and human dignity remains deeply embedded in the conscience of this nation and continues to guide the work of leaders and communities alike; and WHEREAS, even in his absence, the impact of his leadership through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and his tireless advocacy for justice, equality, and opportunity continues to be felt across Tennessee, the United States, and the world; and WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson's voice, which called upon all people to "Keep hope alive," still resonates as a moral compass for those striving to build a more just and equitable society; and WHEREAS, this General Assembly recognizes that the passage of time does not diminish the significance of his contributions but instead deepens our appreciation for the foundation he laid for future generations; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that we pause once more to honor his memory, reaffirm his ideals, and recommit ourselves to the principles for which he so courageously stood; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF …
