A RESOLUTION to commend Mariana Perez Pita for exemplary service as a legislative intern. WHEREAS, each legislative session, this General Assembly is pleased to recognize certain persons who have committed themselves, through their adroit service, to the betterment of the legislative process; and WHEREAS, Mariana Perez Pita is one such individual, who has distinguished herself in her role as a legislative intern for Senator Sara Kyle; her work has resulted in innumerable benefits for the legislators she assisted and the General Assembly as a whole; and WHEREAS, a student at the University of Memphis, where she is highly regarded by her peers, Mariana Perez Pita has achieved academic success while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with a minor in Legal Thought and Liberal Arts; and WHEREAS, during her collegiate career, Ms. Pita has served the Undergraduate Philosophy Circle as a tutor, in which role she actively supports her peers in rigorous philosophical inquiry; and WHEREAS, a native of Memphis, Mariana Perez Pita is driven by a deep commitment to her community; she aspires to practice family law, combining her passion for justice, human dignity, and advocacy for Tennessee's most vulnerable families; and WHEREAS, eager to familiarize herself with the characteristics and complexities of Tennessee State government and to further her studies, Mariana Perez Pita brought her many …
