A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Stevie Ivens, 2026 Valedictorian of Smyrna High School. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay tribute to those students in our State who, through their natural abilities and unwavering pursuit of academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and WHEREAS, Stevie Ivens is one such individual, who has been named Valedictorian of the 2026 graduating class at Smyrna High School; and WHEREAS, through dedication to her studies, careful recollection of vast amounts of data, composure through her examinations, and her steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Ivens has achieved a remarkable academic feat and joined the ranks of the brightest and most notable students in Tennessee and our country; and WHEREAS, in her educational career, Ms. Ivens has maintained an exemplary grade point average while participating in a number of extracurricular activities, including National Honor Society, Beta Club, Student Council, and FCCLA, and working as a student volunteer for the Rocky Ford Elementary School library, mentor to Rocky Fork Middle School students, and volunteer reader for elementary school events; and WHEREAS, Stevie Ivens has earned several prestigious awards and honors, including the Advanced Honors English II Award, the Advanced Placement Precalculus Award, and the Middle Tennessee State University Centennial Scholarship; and WHEREAS, her intellectual …
