A RESOLUTION to honor Qitarah Castlin, South Atlantic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week. WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly are pleased to recognize and commend those successful athletes who, through their magnificent exploits, bring honor to Tennessee and serve as exceptional ambassadors of this State; and WHEREAS, one such estimable individual is Qitarah Castlin of Tusculum University, an athlete of extraordinary talent, skill, and dedication, who has proven herself a formidable competitor; and WHEREAS, Ms. Castlin was recently named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Track Athlete of the week for the week ending April 12, 2026; and WHEREAS, while competing at the Tennessee Invite, Qitarah Castlin won the women's 100-meter relay with a time of 11.48 seconds and ran the leadoff leg to win the 4X100-meter relay that was timed in 44.50 seconds; and WHEREAS, she also ran a career-best in the 200-meter relay at 23.61 seconds, earning a third-place finish in the event; and WHEREAS, Ms. Castlin's 11.48 finish in the 100-meter relay is sixth-best in Division II competition this season, while the Tusculum University Pioneers currently sit atop the 4X100 performance list with their time of 44.47 seconds during the Electric City Invitational on April 3, 2026; and WHEREAS, a native of Griffin, Georgia, Qitarah Castlin holds the Tusculum University record in 400-meter …
