A RESOLUTION to honor and commend James Roberson on being named the 2026 Tennessee Farmer of the Year for the West Tennessee region. WHEREAS, it is fitting that we salute those citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as agricultural leaders of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, one such outstanding person is James Roberson, who was named the 2026 Tennessee Farmer of the Year for the West Tennessee region by the University of Tennessee Extension in coordination with the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation; and WHEREAS, the Farmer of the Year Awards highlight each farmer's long and distinguished career in such areas as ag production, marketing, business management, applied research, environmental innovations, community service, and contributions to industry-related organizations and their community; and WHEREAS, James Roberson and Roberson's Family Farm primarily raise Black Angus beef cattle, utilizing managed pasture systems supported by hay and forage production, emphasizing animal health, forage efficiency, and sustainable practices that support both productivity and long-term farm viability; and WHEREAS, Roberson's Family Farm also produces pork and focuses heavily on directto-consumer sales and educating the public about how beef and pork are raised; Mr. Roberson opened a local meat market, The Fancy Cow, to allow himself and other area producers to market products directly to consumers; and WHEREAS, Mr. Roberson's farm operation …
