89(R) HR 964 - Enrolled version - Bill Text H.R. No. 964 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Elaine Stokes has distinguished herself in her responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mrs. Stokes has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; during her time in the office, she oversaw the representative's work in the Subcommittee on Juvenile Justice, tracked legislation, and collaborated with nonprofit organizations to procure information vital to member concerns; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Stokes is completing a master's degree in educational leadership and policy at The University of Texas at Austin, and she plans to begin her pursuit of a doctorate at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs in fall 2025; she holds a bachelor's degree from the college of engineering at Texas A&M University, and she previously worked as a mathematics teacher at both Leander High School and Crockett High School; passionate about the issue of juvenile justice, she has also served as a volunteer professor with the Texas Prison Education Initiative, as an intern with the …
