89(R) HR 1308 - Enrolled version - Bill Text H.R. No. 1308 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Assistant Chief of Police Dr. Coby Pewitt retired from the Richardson Police Department on March 31, 2025, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure in law enforcement that has spanned more than 28 years; and WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Richardson, Coby Pewitt first became involved in the Richardson PD during his youth, when he served as a member of Explorer Post No. 761; in 1996, he was hired by the department, and he rose through the ranks to become detective, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain; he went on to serve as assistant chief of the Operations and Administration Bureaus before taking on his final role as assistant chief of the Services Bureau; among his many achievements, he was named Rookie of the Year in 1998 and Detective of the Year in 2002; and WHEREAS, Dr. Pewitt holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Texas, an MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management, and a doctorate in public affairs from the UTD School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences; he has further distinguished himself as an adjunct faculty member for the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration, Tarleton State University's Master of Public Administration program, and The …
