0 Government Records Access Amendments 2026 GENERAL SESSION STATE OF UTAH Chief Sponsor: Lisa Shepherd Senate Sponsor: LONG TITLE General Description: This bill modifies provisions related to government records access. Highlighted Provisions: This bill: - prohibits an individual who is the subject of a record request from: - classifying a record responsive to the record request; - participating in the governmental entity's review of or response to the record request; and - participating in an appeal related to the record request; and - makes technical and conforming changes. Money Appropriated in this Bill: None Other Special Clauses: None Utah Code Sections Affected: AMENDS: 63G-2-103 , as last amended by Laws of Utah 2025, First Special Session, Chapter 17 63G-2-204 , as last amended by Laws of Utah 2023, Chapter 173 63G-2-307 , as last amended by Laws of Utah 2025, Chapter 475 63G-2-401 , as last amended by Laws of Utah 2025, Chapter 476 63G-2-701 , as last amended by Laws of Utah 2025, Chapter 476 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah: Section 1. Section 63G-2-103 is amended to read: 63G-2-103 . Definitions.
