0 High School Activities Governance 2026 GENERAL SESSION STATE OF UTAH Chief Sponsor: Keith Grover House Sponsor: LONG TITLE General Description: This bill establishes the Office of Interscholastic Activities within the State Board of Education to govern interscholastic activities. Highlighted Provisions: This bill: - defines terms; - establishes the Office of Interscholastic Activities (office) within the State Board of Education (state board) to govern interscholastic activities and provides the office's duties; - allows the office to contract with a private association to carry out certain functions regarding operation of interscholastic activities; - amends provisions regarding the scope of authority of an activities association; - establishes an advisory council and provides the council's duties; - requires reporting to the state board and the Education Interim Committee; and - makes technical and conforming changes. Money Appropriated in this Bill: None Other Special Clauses: This bill provides a special effective date.
