2026 SESSION HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 290 Celebrating the life of Mary Gay Cobb Koerber. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 10, 2026 Agreed to by the Senate, March 12, 2026 WHEREAS, Mary Gay Cobb Koerber, a beloved member of the Haymarket community, died on October 7, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness; and WHEREAS, after graduating from West Springfield High School, Gay Koerber earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1972, followed by a master's degree in 1974, from George Mason University; and WHEREAS, Gay Koerber devoted decades of her career to serving the needs of homeless veterans with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; and WHEREAS, Gay Koerber demonstrated extraordinary generosity and concern for the well-being of others both in her professional and personal life, and her friendship was a cherished gift to many; and WHEREAS, Gay Koerber will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her son, Chuck, and his family and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Mary Gay Cobb Koerber, a treasured member of the Haymarket community whose loving spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others made an impact on countless lives; and, …
