2026 SESSION HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 101 Commending the Reverend Dr. Patricia Smith Wormley. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 16, 2026 WHEREAS, the Reverend Dr. Patricia Smith Wormley, the first lady and associate minister of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Spotsylvania County, has greatly served the Greater Fredericksburg community for many years; and WHEREAS, Patricia Wormley graduated from the former Walker-Grant High School in Fredericksburg before earning an associate degree in business administration from Strayer University; and WHEREAS, Patricia Wormley devoted 30 years of service to the former Virginia Bell Atlantic, working tirelessly to help the company succeed and to ensure its customers' satisfaction; and WHEREAS, Patricia Wormley obtained a bachelor's degree in theology, master's degree in Christian education, and doctoral degree from what is today the Cornerstone College and Seminary, and she was ordained into the Gospel Ministry on September 24, 2016; and WHEREAS, in addition to serving as first lady and associate minister at Mount Zion Baptist Church alongside her husband and senior pastor, the Reverend Dr. Charles Wormley, Patricia Wormley also guides the congregation as director of the Christian Education Ministry and spiritual advisor to the Adult Choir, the Youth Department, the Young at Heart Ministry, the Missionary Ministry, and the Women's Ministry; and WHEREAS, Patricia Wormley made history as the first woman to serve …
