2026 SESSION HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 203 Commending Joseph E. Kornhoff. Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 9, 2026 WHEREAS, Joseph E. Kornhoff serves as the executive director of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, a nonprofit organization that preserves the memory of Americans whose lives were lost during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001; and WHEREAS, Joseph Kornhoff grew up in Fairfax County and graduated from Robinson Secondary School before attending college at Eastern Kentucky University; and WHEREAS, following graduation from Eastern Kentucky University in 2008, Joseph Kornhoff was commissioned in the United States Army, where he served until 2014; and WHEREAS, during his time in the United States Army, Joseph Kornhoff served in the 101st Airborne Division, the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and the 5th Special Forces Group and completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan; and WHEREAS, in recognition of his service, Joseph Kornhoff received several commendations, including a Bronze Star, a U.S. Army Achievement Medal, a U.S. Army Commendation Medal, and a Combat Action Badge; and WHEREAS, in 2014, Joseph Kornhoff was honorably discharged as a captain, whereupon he continued to serve his nation as a civilian employee at the United States Department of the Army; and WHEREAS, during his time with the U.S. Department of the Army, Joseph Kornhoff's leadership and dedication were recognized with several …
