2026 SPECIAL SESSION I SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 2058 Commending Charles Ridgeway Schuyler III. Agreed to by the Senate, June 22, 2026 WHEREAS, Charles Ridgeway Schuyler III, Dean of Student Support and Community Partnerships and director of Network2Work at Piedmont Virginia Community College, has made a positive and lasting impact in the Charlottesville community over many years; and WHEREAS, a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia School of Law, Charles "Ridge" Schuyler began his career in public service on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., where he developed a deep and nuanced understanding of the intersection between policy and economic development and the importance of cross-sector collaboration; and WHEREAS, in 2011, Ridge Schuyler authored the Orange Dot Report, a pioneering studying of the local economic issues affecting Charlottesville families, which inspired him to found the Charlottesville Works Initiative, a partnership between the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce and Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC); and WHEREAS, Ridge Schuyler's Charlottesville Works Initiative grew to become Network2Work at PVCC, an innovative and dynamic system that unites job seekers, employers, and providers to help individuals secure gainful and fulfilling employment; and WHEREAS, as the result of Ridge Schuyler's leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment, numerous participants in the Network2Work program have secured employment and increased their income; and WHEREAS, by enhancing the …
