ENROLLED ORIGINAL A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION 26-174 IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA June 30, 2026 To recognize honoree Grimaldi-Francesca Sanchez during the 2026 celebration of DC Black Pride. WHEREAS, Grimaldi-Francesca Sanchez is a community health professional, prevention advocate, and entrepreneur with a strong focus on HIV prevention, health equity, and community empowerment; WHEREAS, with extensive experience supporting HIV testing, PrEP navigation, and community-based outreach, Grimaldi-Francesca Sanchez has played a key role in developing and implementing prevention programming that centers dignity, access, and culturally responsive care; WHEREAS, Grimaldi-Francesca Sanchez's work is grounded in a commitment to uplifting marginalized communities, particularly LGBTQIA+ and TGNC populations, through education, representation, and intentional community building; WHEREAS, Grimaldi-Francesca Sanchez continues to lead with integrity, compassion, and a belief that access to information and services saves lives; WHEREAS, DC Black Pride is an annual event to increase awareness of and showcase pride in the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ populations in the African American community, and to support organizations that focus on health disparities, education, youth, and families; WHEREAS, as the very first Black Pride festival in the world, DC Black Pride fostered the beginning of the Center for Black Equity and the "Black Pride Movement"; WHEREAS, since the birth of DC Black Pride, more than 50 other Black Pride celebrations now take place throughout the …
