_____________________________ Councilmember Janeese Lewis George A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION _________________________ IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA _________________________ To recognize, honor, and remember the life of Robert A. Kennedy Jr. and his tireless advocacy for and impact on people with disabilities in the District of Columbia. WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was born on March 23, 1952 in Washington, DC, grew up in the Brookland neighborhood, and remained a lifelong resident of the District of Columbia, living in Ward 5 when he passed on May 23, 2026; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy devoted his life to uplifting the voices of people with disabilities and and ensuring their voices were respected in decisions that shaped their lives; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy worked at the National Labor Relations Board and retired after 38 years of service; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy worked at RCM of Washington for 17 years from 2009 until is retirement in April 2026, starting in Facilities Maintenance before moving to Human Resources; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy served the National Children's Center (NCC) Board of Directors for 18 years; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was honored with the NCC's Advocacy Award at its 65th Anniversary Gala and drew on his lived experience and the voices of fellow advocates to advance inclusion and strengthen NCC's mission of empowering individuals with disabilities; WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was involved with Lifeline Partnership for …
