______________________________ Councilmember Charles Allen A CEREMONIAL RESOLUTION ______ IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ______________ To recognize and acknowledge the professional contributions of Ann Chisholm on the occasion of her retirement from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. WHEREAS, Ann Chisholm joined the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority ("WMATA") in May 2006 to lead its Community Relations Office; WHEREAS, prior to joining WMATA, Ms. Chisholm served as the spokesperson for both Howard University and the DC General Hospital; WHEREAS, after joining WMATA, Ms. Chisholm soon transitioned her skills to the Government Relations Office, serving as Assistant Government Relations Officer for DC and directly handling WMATA's outreach to the District's nearly 350 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners; WHEREAS, Ms. Chisholm was promoted to DC Government Relations Officer, serving as WMATA's liaison to all parts of the District government; WHEREAS, Ms. Chisholm is deeply committed to safe, reliable, and accessible public transit for District residents, employees, and visitors; WHEREAS, Ms. Chisholm has been central to ensuring WMATA's success through strong relationships between the agency and the District, including in navigating major challenges like COVID-19 impacts and innovations like the transition to the Better Bus Network; WHEREAS, Ms. Chisholm has ably represented WMATA on the DowntownDC BID Board of Directors since 2012; WHEREAS, in addition to her professional successes, Ms. Chisholm is known …
